Because of restrictions at work, I was very limited as to what blogs I could view from the hyperlinks on the BBAW website or referrals from other bloggers. However, I did find four new-to-me blogs I feel are noteworthy and I will be checking in with them going forward:
- 12 year old Benji at The Non Reluctant Reader has been blogging for almost two years, and he has even had blurbs on book jackets. I never thought I’d look up to a Tween! I found him via Sheila at Book Journey, who interviewed him for Tuesday’s event.
- I was familiar with Rachel from A Home Between the Pages from her BookRiot contributions, but when Kim the Dork featured her on the same list as me, I checked out her newly retooled blog. Quite nice!
- Kim also compiled a list of nonfiction bloggers for the BBAW site, and I was immediately drawn to Maphead’s Book Blog. I like the variety he presents and that he used this quote: “He’s read books, you know, it’s amazing. He’s drunk and wenched his way through London but he’s thinking all the time.” –Peter O’Toole as King Henry II in Becket.
- Thanks to Jennifer at The Relentless Reader for making some great comments this week. I’ll be visiting her frequently! She also introduced me to the Midwestern Book Bloggers group.
My first experience with BBAW was quite fun and I always love finding new ways to connect with fellow bloggers. Next year I hope to come into it more prepared, but nevertheless, was a great week!

Comments on: "BBAW – Fun Stuff I’ve Discovered This Week" (12)
This was my first year participating and this event rocked! I came across so many new to me bloggers who share my passion which made the week even better.
It’s great to know that even with you were limited you were able to make new discoveries.
Midwestern Book Bloggers! How did I miss that? I was fairly certain that I went through every post… oh, man. I’ll have to take a second look, whenever I get the chance.
I participate in BBAW every year & it’s always one of my favorite events. I missed the awards this year, but the overall sense of community felt great (Which, unfortunately, might be a sort of either/or kinda thing).
Anwyway, it was a lot of fun & I’m grateful as always to our host, Amy!
Benji is one great find for me!
BBAW: Highlight
I had such fun this week, and, like you, have come away with many new-to-me blogs to follow.
The Relentless Reader gets my award for best commenter, too! I’m glad you had a good BBAW!
Oo, thanks for the link to the Midwestern Book Bloggers group. I just signed up, it looks awesome. Too bad the Midwest is so enormous that it’d be almost impossible to get the group together
Looks like you had a great week with BBAW!
A 12 year old blogger? Wow, he’s going to be incredibly well read before his time! It was a very good week.
Nicely said….I am glad I found your blog.
I found so many great blogs and more wonderful books. This was my first time participating.
It is has been a fabulous week. I loved it all.
Stop by my blog if you like to see my Day 3, 4, and 5 responses if you like.
