Huffington Post took the liberty of casting The Casual Vacancy and I vehemently disagreed with many of their selections, although John Goodman as Howard Mollison was spot on. They didn’t use many British actors, though. So I thought I would try my hand at this game, and it doesn’t escape me that many of these actors were in the Harry Potter franchise. But I also cast from some of my favorite other Brit-filled features (like the Cate Blanchett Elizabeth movies and Showtime’s The Tudors) and I did NOT cast any of the teenagers; I just wasn’t up for that challenge (image courtesy of IMDB):

I should be finished with the book by mid-week, so stay tuned for my review. I would like to know your thoughts on Rowling’s adult venture so far, so please share. Or tell me who you would cast in the movie version…
