Saturday I drove into the city to attend a mail art workshop hosted by the Letter Writers Alliance. It was ever so fun to sit around a table full of crafty material with other letter enthusiasts and learn some cute tips from LWA co-founder Kathy. First, Kathy taught us how to do cute heart folds for Valentines:
Then we dove into the fun supplies to make our own creations with some of Donovan’s goodies, exclusive LWA stamps, and other odds and ends that I and other participants brought.
Here is some of what I made, mostly just envelope art (and a funky magna postcard):
I want to shout out to the lovely people I met around the table: Denise, Erin, Olivia, and Kay. We talked about a great variety of things, but of course our conversation centered around the joys of letter writing. We all had our own quirks and insights and participate in different postal projects, but we all savor this wonderful art form. And here’s me and Kathy:
Thanks to LWA for hosting such fun. We missed you Donovan!

That’s awesome! I wish we had events in my area, but I haven’t seen any so far.
You can always host your own!
It was so great to meet you and thanks for the cool supplies you shared, too! Mail coming soon…
A pleasure meeting you, too! Glad you liked those airmail logos.
Wow, that sounds like so much fun…definitely makes me wish I didn’t live in the middle of nowhere, I’m having trouble finding someone around here who doesn’t frown at me for hand-writing letters since emails are “obviously superior”
I’m fortunate to live I the same city as the LWA ladies!
This is SO something I would do. I love this!
Glad you dropped by!
